Art Activation: Celebrating Queer Black Joy with Willie Thomas

Come celebrate and create Queer Black Joy with us! Calling our beautiful queer and gender-expansive community and their tribe (allies, friends, chosen family, and beloved) to spend an inspiring evening with featured HOMEPLACE artist for an interactive art activation focused on celebrating Queer Black joy.

Growing up as a young Black boy in Compton, Willie used art as a vital avenue for self-expression and navigating his identity. During this gathering, Willie will share his story, inspiration, and artistic process. Afterwards, you will be guided through a hands-on artmaking activity to express your own creativity. Whether you consider yourself an artist or are picking up a paintbrush for the first time, come ready to learn, connect, and create!

Your ticket purchase/donation covers all art materials provided for the hands-on crafting activity.
