ARRAN | Whisky Tasting

Join us as we taste through the whiskies of Arran. These single malts are produced at Lochranza Distillery, founded in 1995 on the north of the Isle of Arran — the first legal distillery on the island in over 150 years. After 30 years Arran have built a serious reputation and are today one of the finest independent distillers in Scotland.

Matured in earth-floored warehouses, the whiskies are heavily influenced by the island. The water is drawn from Loch na Davie, some of the purest water in Scotland. The Gulf Stream keeps the climate mild and damp, accelerating maturation and lending a softness to the spirit. And sitting in the Firth of Clyde, the salt air finds its way in too — not dramatically, but enough to give the whisky a coastal edge.

Arran's house style is fruit-led and clean — fresh orchard fruit, vanilla and gentle baking spice. The base spirit is pure and high quality, taking to the wood remarkably well. The slow maturation gives a final whisky that manages to be flavoursome without losing its characteristic freshness and clarity.
