Around Brixton's Max Roach Park - a heritage walk
About this Event
Join life long Brixton resident Alan Piper as he takes you round an area just north of Brixton Town Centre where Victorian houses were demolsihed to make way for a new park and new estates. Hear about what was here before the Victorians laid out the streets and built rows of terraces, and how squatters in the 1970s fought to save some of the housing terraces.
Brixton Society is an amenity society and charity. We aim to keep our walks free or low cost so they are open to as many people as possible. If you are able, please make a donation when you book or at the end of the walk on the day. This will help us to continue our work understanding the past and shaping the furure. All contributions, however small, are very much appreciated.
