Armistice Day, observed on November 11, marks the signing of the armistice that ended the fighting in World War I. The agreement between the Allies and Germany took effect on the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" in 1918. It is a day to remember the sacrifice of those who have served in the armed forces.
