So, Let's take a detailed look at what's going on this year.. there are a few notable changes which we think you'll love...
◾WHAT IS ARMIES ON PARADE?
Armies on Parade is where you get to show off your completed hobby projects in several categories. It provides an opportunity to explore anything from colour schemes and centrepiece models, to storytelling and scenery painting. It's a time to celebrate your skills and efforts and bask in the glory of your project and that of your fellow hobbyists..
◾ WHEN IS ARMIES ON PARADE?
This year we will be holding our Army parade the weekend commencing 28th & 29th of September..

◾ WHAT ARE THE CATEGORIES?
▪️ INDIVIDUAL : Entrants to the Individual category can paint up and submit any army from any Warhammer game system on a blank battle board or table. It’s all about the army, so no terrain is required.
▪️ TEAM : Entries are the same as the individual category, but these are for groups who want to work together to put on a show-stopping entry. It could be two friends painting a combined force, a family working together, a whole team painting a unit each, or maybe a big community, each contributing a single miniature!
▪️ DISPLAY BOARD : The Display Board category is for those who want to exercise their terrain-making and diorama muscles. It can be expansive battlefields, small but highly detailed scenes and everything in between. You can also enter this category on top of entering the Individual or Team categories.
▪️ YOUNGBLOODS : Youngbloods is a category exclusively for 12- 16-year-olds (though you require the consent of a parent or guardian to enter). Teams of Youngbloods can also enter the Team category as long as they have someone over 16 as part of their group – so, for instance, your teacher can enter on behalf of a school Warhammer club.
▪️ SKAVENTIDE : Skaventide is a category for those who got their hands on a Skaventide box and are going to paint up their chosen side of the box or both. You can also enter this category on top of entering the Individual or Team categories.
◾ DO WE RECEIVE SOMETHING FOR TAKING PART?
🏅 Oh yes!! There are notable changes to the usual format this year. Everyone who takes part will be rewarded with an AoP pin badge, as well as being in for a chance of winning a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal if you place in the top 3 in your chosen category, as voted for by our community during visits to the store during the weekend of the parade.. For the first time there will be NO overall winner..
We will also have certificates for best newcomer in each category, as well as ‘Managers Choice’ certificates that staff in store will allocate for a multitude of reasons, like best Battle Honours entry, extra dedication, and variable techniques..for instance.
◾ HOW BIG OR SMALL CAN I GO WITH MY DISPLAY?
Entries must fit within a board with the base dimensions of 22” x 30” inches. Your display can be no larger than this, but of course smaller if you wish.
◾WHEN CAN I SUBMIT MY ENTRY?
Your entry will be categorised, and will need to be booked with us beforehand due to display space over 1 of 2 display days here in store. We only have space for so many displays, so be sure to secure your spot asap. Your entry will need to be submitted before the voting goes live on the day..
(SAT 28th) Categories : INDIVIDUAL / SKAVENTIDE submission by 11am. Voting between 11am-5pm. Collections 5-6pm.
(SUN 29th) Categories : DISPLAY BOARD / TEAM / YOUNGBLOODS submission by 11am. Voting between 11am-4pm. Collections 4-5pm.
