Asana Lab: Arm Balances & Inversions
with Ola Lirka & Ale Manning
Arm balances and inversions ask us to understand and trust our strength, our technique, and sometimes our courage. They’re not just about getting upside down; they’re about learning how to organise the body, focus the mind and play with possibility.
In this final workshop of the Asana Lab series, Fire & Bliss co-founders Ola Lirka (guest teacher for the series) and Ale Manning guide you through two empowering hours of exploration, skill-building and confidence-boosting practice — all held in our signature Fire & Bliss blend of warmth, intelligence and light-hearted encouragement.
In this lab, we’ll explore:
Foundational strength and mobility for wrists, shoulders and core
Intelligent weight-bearing mechanics and load management
How to create stability through scapular engagement and core integration
Safe ways to enter, hold and exit arm balances and inversions
Working with fear, breath and nervous system regulation when going upside down
Progressive, accessible pathways towards arm balances and inversions, including:
Bakasana (Crow Pose)
Kakasana (Crane Pose)
Parsva Bakasana (Side Crow)
Eka Pada Koundinyasana I & II
Salamba Sirsasana (Supported Headstand – traditional)
Tripod Sirsasana
Pincha Mayurasana (Forearm Balance)
This workshop is not about flinging yourself forward and hoping gravity is kind. It’s about building clarity, strength and confidence, so arm balances and inversions become steady, joyful and — yes — fun.
