Can You Stay Connected Without Silencing Your Own Note?
Every relationship has its own music.
Sometimes our notes harmonize. Sometimes they create dissonance. And sometimes, in an effort to maintain harmony, we adjust ourselves so much that we stop hearing our own note.
The September 26 Full Moon in Aries illuminates the relationship between self and other, connection and individuality, sensitivity and boundaries.
Two weeks ago, the Virgo New Moon invited us to explore The Note Between Us:
Can I hear my own note while listening to yours?
This Full Moon takes the practice one step further:
Now that I can hear my note, am I willing to play it?
Play Your Own Note
Aries reminds us that being connected to others does not require becoming the same as them.
Music teaches us this beautifully.
A violin doesn't need to become a cello to play beside it. Each instrument maintains its distinctive voice—and that distinction is what makes harmony possible.
A boundary can work the same way.
A boundary doesn't always mean keep out.
Sometimes it simply means:
This is my note.
That is your note.
We can hear one another without becoming one another.
During this Lunar Tune-Up, you’ll be invited to explore:
- What happens to your note in the presence of someone else's
- Where you may silence or change yourself to maintain harmony
- The difference between connection and accommodation
- Where greater clarity or a boundary may be needed
- How you respond when someone else's note creates dissonance
- What it feels like to remain connected while staying connected to yourself
- What note may be ready to be expressed
Resonance & Dissonance
We often assume resonance is good and dissonance is bad.
But music needs both.
Dissonance creates tension, contrast, movement, and the possibility of a new resolution.
The same can be true in our lives.
Another person's needs, expectations, emotions, or choices may create dissonance within us. The invitation is not to immediately fix the discomfort or change someone else's note.
It is to notice what is happening within your own Human Instrument.
Notice. Tune. Play.
NOTICE — What am I experiencing?
Listen to the sensations, emotions, thoughts, and impulses arising within you.
TUNE — What is mine?
Notice where greater clarity, space, expression, or a boundary might help you remain connected to yourself.
PLAY — What is my next note?
Allow yourself to consider what you might say, choose, create, begin, stop, or express if you trusted yourself enough to play your own note.
Your Sound Tune-Up
You'll be invited to get comfortable, close your eyes, and receive an immersive Holographic Sound experience using singing bowls, vibration, layered sound, intention, and quiet reflection.
There is nothing you need to accomplish.
No experience with meditation, sound, astrology, or Return To Witness® is necessary.
Simply arrive as you are.
Listen.
Notice.
Tune.
And become curious about the note that wants to be played next.
The Full Moon Invitation
What would you play if you weren't afraid of disrupting the harmony?
Perhaps harmony isn't created by everyone playing the same note.
Perhaps it begins when each of us can hear ourselves clearly enough to participate without disappearing.
Hear your note. Honor your note. Play your note.
Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to settle in. Comfortable clothing is encouraged.
Yoga mats, blankets, eye masks, and bottled water are included.
Reception with tea service and snacks afterwards.
