Road America to Host 70th Anniversary Festival During Ariens Art on Wheels Weekend with VSCDA, September 12–14Elkhart Lake, Wis. — Road America and the Vintage Sports Car Drivers Association (VSCDA) are proud to present the Ariens Art on Wheels Fall Festival, September 12–14, 2025—an event that also marks 70 years of racing at Road America.
This special anniversary weekend will bring together hundreds of vintage and historic race cars representing seven decades of motorsport history. From pre-war machines to sports sedans, production sports cars, sports racing cars, and formula cars, fans and competitors alike will experience a full schedule of practice, qualifying, and racing across three full days at the legendary 4.048-mile circuit.
VSCDA drivers will enjoy more than seven on-track sessions throughout the weekend—one of the most generous track time offerings in vintage racing. Thursday offers an optional Test & Tune day (contact Road America directly for registration details).
Highlights include:
Friday, September 12
• Practice and qualifying races for all groups
• Formula Ford East vs. West Challenge
• Closed Wheel Endurance Series Race, benefiting Disabled American Veterans
• Victory Lane Magazine Welcome Reception – open to all registered participants and guests
• Fireworks display presented by Acuity Insurance – lighting up the sky to celebrate 70 years of Road America and Acuity’s 100th anniversary
Saturday, September 13
• Full day of racing
• 70th Anniversary Festival Invitational: Closed-Wheel Showcase — featuring historic race cars from each decade
• John Weinberger Tribute Race and Carl Haas Cup
• Lunch-hour touring sessions on the racecourse, open to street cars and car club members, supporting Women in Motorsports North America (WIMNA)
• Race rides with drivers available by donation to WIMNA
• Road Course Reenactment Parade, tracing the original road course through the Village of Elkhart Lake with police escort
• The Late Show at the Track – an evening movie under the stars with popcorn. Bring a chair.
Sunday, September 14
• Final group races and Cup events, including:
• - Elkhart Lake Cup for open-wheel cars
• - Kimberly Cup
• - Sheldon Cup (based on lap time classifications)
• 70th Anniversary Festival Invitational: Open-Wheel Showcase – from pre-war to modern race cars
• Formula B Challenge, Founder’s Tribute, and Big Bore Bash close out the weekend
Spectators, car clubs, and community members are welcome all weekend long. Paddock parking is available for historic vehicles and street cars from each of the past seven decades. Weekend activities include track touring, driver meet-and-greets, charity rides, and Saturday’s road course parade—all in celebration of Road America’s enduring legacy.
