“A technically impressive comic thriller about a rebellious hen on the run from the chicken-industrial complex.” – The Film Verdict
Just in time for Thanksgiving, Arkadin brings you a poultry protagonist you won’t soon forget! Told entirely from the perspective of its avian protagonist, Hen follows a chicken who escapes an industrial farm only to find herself navigating the pecking order of a crumbling seaside restaurant in Greece. As she fights to protect her eggs, she becomes an unwitting witness to the complex human lives around her as the restaurant is caught up in greed, smuggling, and the migrant crisis. The film’s lovable title bird was played by eight different hens. Funny, moving and entirely original, this dark comedy adventure tale from visionary director György Pálfi (Taxidermia, Hukkle) is brought to you by executive producer Ari Aster, director of Hereditary and Midsommar.
Come out early for a selection of hilarious cartoon and live-action birds with our “Fowl Humor” pre-show, starting at 6 pm.
