Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. If you feel you may be at risk for diabetes, or know of someone who might, the Mockingbird Branch will host a free program led by Michelle Hale, MSN, RN, and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. Open to adults, Hale will provide a presentation detailing information about the risk factors to be aware of. If you have diabetes, Hale will also address some management strategies to help you live your best life.
