سخنران مهمان ماه فوریه کانون ایرانیان بوستون آقای دکتر علی بنوعزیزی، استاد علوم سیاسی در کالج بوستون هستند. سخنرانی تحت عنوان ”چهار مرحله از زندگی هنری اردشیر محصص“ در تاریخ بیست و یکم فوریه ۲۰۲۵ از ساعت ۶ تأ ۸ بعد از ظهر در محل کانون برگزار خواهد شد. هدف دکتر بنوعزیزی دراین صحبت نشان دادن و ارزیابی کوتاهی از کارهای هنری اردشیر محصص (۱۳۱۷ - ۱۳۸۷) در چهار دوره از زندگی وی با شروع از کاریکاتورها درروزنامه ها و مجلات ایران در دهه های ۱۹۵۰ و ۱۹۶۰، تا سفرش به پاریس و آشنائی با کاربرد رنگ، تا برخوردش با انقلاب اسلامی، و سه دهه ی آخر زندگیش در نیویورک است که در طی آن به عنوان یکی از برجسته ترین هنرمندان ایرانی شهرتی جهانی .یافت تاریخ: جمعه ۲۱ فوریه

On Friday 21th of February 2025, from 6 to 8 pm (EST), the Iranian Association of Boston will host Dr. Ali Banuazizi, Professor of Political Science at Boston College and Research Affiliate at the Center for International Studies at MIT. The title of his talk is “Ardeshir Mohassess: Four Phases in His Life and Art”
The talk will explore the evolution of Ardeshir Mohassess’s artwork from his early satirical line-drawings in the 1950s and 1960s; to his 1973 sojourn in Paris and collaboration with the weekly magazine, Jeune Afrique, which opened up the world of color to him; to his encounter with the Iranian revolution and its aftermath; to the last three decades of his exilic life in New York during which he combined traditional and modernist styles that consolidated his status as a world-class Iranian artist. The talk will include a number of Mohassess’s drawings and paintings from each of the above four phases of his life.
