Arden Woods Super Steward: Trail Maintainer Training

Natural Areas Conservancy will host a Super Steward: Trail Maintainer training on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Arden Woods. If you are attending, please fill out this volunteer waiver. Note: Every attendee must fill out waiver. If you have others joining, please ensure they fill out the waiver above as well.

Location: 94-100 Arden Ave (Staten Island, NY 10312)

Time: 10am - 1pm

During this training you will learn:

• How to navigate using Citywide Trails Team trail maps
• How to identify and assess trail conditions
• Ways to mitigate trail concerns
• Plant identification and invasive/non-native species management techniques
• Standard trail corridor dimensions & how to prune native vegetation using basic arboriculture methods

What should you bring:

• A water bottle
• Weather appropriate clothing
• Long pants
• Sturdy, closed toe shoes
