About this Event
Archives Sonores
Archives Sonores, curated by Berlin-based conductor, DJ, and producer Avi Caspi alongside sound artist Izumi Yamamoto, is a new platform exploring the outer reaches of sound art by bringing together a lineup of boundary-defying artists who blend electronic, acoustic, and visual media to create immersive experiences.
Yuri Urano,Osaka-based sound artist, brings her multi-dimensional approach to sonic exploration. Her early works revolved on emotionally charged techno, while more recently, she has ventured into ambient compositions. Her latest album, Yuragi on Muzan Editions, invites listeners into a world of organic fluctuations, inspired by the rhythms of nature and the mind. As a certified Bitwig trainer, she leads workshops and contributes to music publications. Through music as a form of education, she is committed to fostering creativity and supporting social development. Known for her appearances at global festivals like MUTEK, Urano crafts experiences that gently draw audiences into her sonic world.
Maxim Turbo has performed extensively across diverse stages, earning a strong reputation within the noise scene. His stage act is an intense, expressive, and physical performance involving a combination of mixer, pedals, voice, and trumpet. He navigates between the raw aesthetics of industrial soundscapes and the melodies of folk songs, combining together elements of religious themes and pop culture. Maxim Turbo’s work embodies an alternative cultural and queer movement that operates in parallel to the mainstream art world. His practice is both performative and musical, driven by an emotionally charged, chaotic approach to real-time improvisation in front of his audience.
Ila Moire (Filippo Schelde) will contribute a raw electronic ambiance, mixing acoustic and digital sounds to explore musique concrète and rhythmic minimalism. His debut on Esedra and upcoming release, Xilo-lito-fonia, commissioned by ARKAD, showcase his evolving soundscape.
Visual artist Rahul Sharma and lighting designer Joseph Devitt Tremblay (Lightwriter) will transform the performances and venue with vivid visuals and lighting. Known for their interactive designs, Sharma and Tremblay will draw you deeper into the sounds, creating a multi-sensory experience.
