It’s time for our third Architecture Amble of the summer! We are heading up to the Highland Park Boulevard Historic District. This district is packed with intriguing architecture, including buildings designed by architects Frank Lloyd Wright, George Maher, Alexander Eschweiler, Oppenhamer & Obel, and George Foster.
On Thursday, August 27, we will meet at the corner of McIndoe and North Thirteenth Streets to explore the district’s architecture and history. Included in this tour are the homes of Charles and Dorothy Manson, A.P. and Leigh Woodson, D.C. and Lillian Everest, Louis and Angeline Koss, and S. Knox and Earline Kreutzer. The neighborhood’s architectural styles run from Usonian to Tudor to Spanish Revival and beyond.
Architecture Ambles are open to all, and no reservations are required. This historic district tour includes a hill and possible uneven ground; comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. Please watch the Friends of Wausau Historic Landmarks Facebook page and website, www.wausauhistoriclandmarks.org, for any updates due to weather.
Contact Christine at [email protected] or 715-212-9922 with any questions about the tour.
