Като част от съпътстващата програма към изложбата ARCHIPELAGO ви каним на среща-разговор с гръцкия фотограф Стратос Калафатис.
По време на събитието авторът ще разкаже за своя дългогодишен проект ARCHIPELAGO, създаван в продължение на повече от две десетилетия. Разговорът ще проследи процеса на работа по проекта, фотографския подход на Калафатис към Егейско море и връзката между пътуването, паметта и образа.
Изложбата ARCHIPELAGO, курирана от Надежда Павлова, представя за първи път фотографиите от едноименния проект заедно с избрани портрети от серията Journal. Първоначално създаден по повод участието на Гърция в 10-ото Архитектурно биенале във Венеция, проектът разглежда Егейско море като пространство на движение, културен обмен и срещи между островите.
След разговора посетителите ще имат възможност да разгледат изложбата и фотокнигите на автора – Archipelago, Journal и Athos.
Събитието е с вход свободен.
Изложбата може да бъде разгледана до 23 юли 2026 г.

Artist Talk with Stratos Kalafatis

As part of the public programme accompanying the exhibition ARCHIPELAGO, Synthesis Gallery invites you to an artist talk with Greek photographer Stratos Kalafatis.
During the event, Kalafatis will discuss his long-term photographic project ARCHIPELAGO, developed over more than two decades. The conversation will explore the making of the project, his photographic approach to the Aegean Sea, and the relationship between travel, memory and image.
Curated by Nadezhda Pavlova, ARCHIPELAGO presents, for the first time, photographs from the eponymous project alongside selected portraits from the Journal series. Originally conceived for the Greek participation in the 10th Venice Architecture Biennale, the project approaches the Aegean as a space of movement, cultural exchange and connections between islands.
Following the talk, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition and the artist’s photobooks: Archipelago, Journal and Athos.
Admission is free.
The exhibition is on view until 23 July 2026.

The exhibition is produced by the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation (MIET) and presented with the support of PhotoSynthesis. It is part of the programme celebrating PhotoSynthesis’ 20th anniversary.
