ARCHETYPAL HEALING DOLL WORKSHOP
Schedule
Sat Nov 22 2025 at 10:00 am to 03:00 pm
UTC-06:00Location
100 Men D.B.A. Hall, 303 Union St, Bay St. Louis, MS | Bay Saint. Louis, MS
During our time together, we will go into the world of our imagination. Some live in their imagination – others may be so busy the last time they may have been there may be in their childhood, when we thought in archetypes but did not know it at the time. Monster under the bed, Stranger danger, Nurturing Mother, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Spider Man, cartoon and story characters – all archetypes. Characters that appear in our dreams are archetypes. We will create an archetype of our healing.
In this 5-hour workshop, you will meditate on your healing intention that you have developed prior to workshop (instructions on how to do this will be emailed to you after you have registered, but this is optional). From decisions you make as I lead you through the process in class, you will choose colors, faces, structures and various ephemera to create your very own archetypal healing doll. All supplies included. You are welcome to bring any small found objects, jewelry, feather or such that you think you may like to include. Please bring your lunch, beverage and an open mind!
To Register, use Venmo

Or, if you want to pay by check, or have questions, please email me: [email protected]
I will reply to each registration with instructions on how to pay workshop fee, along with instructions on how to develop your healing intention if you desire.
Note: I create faces using air dry clay. NOT sculpey. I use molds or I hand shape these faces, then pre-paint them for you as the workshop does not allow enough time to do this in class. I will have plenty of faces to choose from; however, feel free to create your own 2.5” tall face if you would like. I also have some fired clay faces. I will make wooden stands for you to display your art doll so she/he can engage in your life.
I look forward to seeing you!
Limited spaces available!
Watch for more workshops soon in Atlanta and Ashville!
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Emma Connolly has led a diverse creative life, making her first doll at age 8. With degrees in Psychology and Theology, and certificates in Family Systems and Reality Therapy, she served for many years as Episcopal clergy, chaplain, and workshop leader in church settings. Emma served in Memphis for 10 years and while there she created WriteMemphis, a non-profit creative writing program for inner city teen girls. She began her full-time creativity focus at retirement when she opened Uptown Needle & Craftworks on Magazine Street in New Orleans, where she facilitated classes and engaged local artists in teaching everything from watercolor, art quilting, creative writing and puppet design, to carnival costumes and headdresses. Emma now makes her home in her birthplace of Hattiesburg, MS, a mecca of art and academia, where she serves on the board of the Hattiesburg Arts Council.
