About the Skyspace

Join in quiet contemplation and enjoy the stunning visual beauty of contemporary artist and fellow Quaker, James Turrell’s “Greet The Light”. This permanent art installation is a mesmerizing sequence of light timed specifically with the setting of the sun, which is viewed through an opening in the Meeting Room’s ceiling. Info: We will begin promptly at 6pm!

Info: Outreach Committee will be catering a Mediterranean cuisine meal from nearby Malelani Cafe for folks to eat together at the meetinghouse prior to our Skyspace viewing. We will take into account vegetarian, gluten free, dairy-free, and diabetic needs.

Info: After dinner (and a quick clean up!) we will gather in Chesnut Hill's worship room for the Skyspace viewing. Sunset is anticipated at 7:51pm, so you can expect the program to last a little under an hour total. Friends are welcome to sit or lay on the benches, or utilize the yoga mats onsite to lay on the ground. Remember that the roof will be open, so if you get chilly we recommend bringing a jacket, blanket, or pillow for your viewing comfort.
