Society bio:
Illinois Prairie Hosta Society (IPHS) was formed in 2004. For several years, they worked with Allerton Park to create an IPHS Hosta Display Garden there; some of that garden is still in existence today and is now a project of Master Gardeners. From the fall of 2010, until the spring of 2014, volunteer members of IPHS donated money for hardscape and the purchase of shad companion plants, designed and created a wishlist for plants to be installed in the garden, donated their own mostly originator stock (OS - meaning purchased from the original hybridizer of the plant, or grown from the original plant), and installed, labeled, and maintained the original area of the Garden. In The Hosta Garden at the University of Illinois Arboretum was awarded the American Hosta Society’s (AHS) designation as a National Display Garden.
