The Arbor Day Plant Sale at The Morton Arboretum is one of the largest seasonal plant sales in the Chicago region. It offers thousands of carefully chosen plants with expert Plant Geniuses available throughout the sale to answer questions and suggest plants.Tickets
Tickets for the 2026 Arbor Day Plant Sale will be available to Arboretum members and donors on Wednesday, April 1. Tickets will be available to all on Wednesday, April 15.
Each Plant Sale ticket is for a specific time slot. Space is limited and tickets are offered on a first come, first serve basis.
Plant Sale tickets include general admission to the Arboretum for the day. Early Access tickets and regular Plant Sale tickets include a credit to be applied toward a purchase at the sale.
Event Schedule and Hours
The 2026 sale will take place Thursday, April 23, through Saturday, April 25.
Early Access tickets allow you to shop from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 23, before the Plant Sale opens to all ticket holders.
Wednesday, April 22
Open to Arboretum donors.
3:00 to 7:00 p.m.—Donor Preview Event
Reservations required. Tree Advocate, President’s Council, and Thornhill Society members will receive a separate invitation with details to register for this event. Join one of these membership levels today.
Thursday, April 23
Open to all
9:00 a.m. to noon—Admission by Early Access tickets only
1:00 to 4:00 p.m.—Admission by regular Plant Sale timed-entry tickets
Friday, April 24
Open to all
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—Admission by regular Plant Sale timed-entry tickets
Saturday, April 25
Open to all
9:00 a.m. to noon—Admission by regular Plant Sale timed-entry tickets
1:00 to 4:00 p.m.—Discounted admission by Plant Sale timed-entry tickets, no vouchers included
