Led by certified instructor Sheryl Leonard-Schneck, this is a dynamic, high-energy 45-minute water exercise class is designed to build cardiovascular endurance, core stability, and full-body strength. Taught entirely in chest-deep water, this low impact environment reduces stress on your joints while utilizing the natural 360-degree resistance of the pool to challenge your muscles. This class requires no swimming experience, and every movement can be modified or progressed, making it perfect for beginners and advanced participants alike.
What to Expect
Dynamic Warm-Up (5–7 minutes): Gentle water walking, arm sweeps, and basic mobility
drills to gradually elevate your heart rate and prepare your joints.
Cardio & Core Conditioning (25 minutes): High-energy intervals featuring water jogging,
jumping jacks, and cross-country skiing. You choose your depth and impact level. We will
meet you where YOU are at!
Strength Training (10 minutes): Targeted upper and lower body resistance training.
Exercises use the water's resistance and optional equipment like foam dumbbells or pool
noodles.
Cool-Down & Stretch (5 minutes): Slower movements with bigger range of motion, static
stretches and deep breathing exercises to lengthen muscles and reduce tension.
Class Highlights
Joint-Friendly: Water's buoyancy reduces your weight-bearing load by up to 90%,
eliminating harsh impacts on knees, hips, and ankles.
Natural Resistance: The faster you move against the water, the harder the workout
becomes, giving you total control over your intensity.
Core Centered: Exercising in chest-deep water requires constant core engagement to
stay balanced and upright, conditioning your core, which leads to better posture and
less back pain.
What to Bring
Proper Swimwear: Comfortable, supportive athletic swimwear.
Water Shoes: Optional, but highly recommended for better traction and foot protection
on the pool floor.
Water Bottle: Stay hydrated! Even in the pool, your body sweats.
