The Level 1 Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program (CCIP) was developed by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) for clinicians interested in or involved with clinical education. The course addresses planning and preparing students, developing appropriate learning experiences, supporting ongoing learning through questioning and effective feedback, building skills in performance evaluation, understanding applicable compliance & regulatory issues and facilitating successful clinical education experiences.
The information presented is useful for both new and experienced clinical instructors. The Assessment Centers provide each participant the opportunity to apply information from the course to simulated cases. Successful completion of the Assessment Centers results in APTA Clinical Instructor Credentialing. Each participant must attend all sessions of the course to be eligible for credentialing.
Professionals from other disciplines are welcome to attend the program, although they are not eligible to become APTA Credentialed Clinical Trainers.
The registration fee pays APTA for course materials and registration as a credentialed clinical instructor in the national database. The credentialing process is voluntary and not a requirement for participating as a clinical instructor for UK or SCC. Sixteen (16) contact hours of continuing education are awarded for the course.

Registration Fee
$110 (APTA Members), $225 (non-members). Payment will be through APTA – Somerset Community College PTA Program will cover this cost for 24 PT/PTA attendees.
Registration
Register online through APTA at https://ccip.apta.org. Complete the application including a copy of your state license. APTA has to approve your application which make take a few days.
CEUs
1.6 CEUs for PTs/PTAs; Clinicians from other professions are welcome to attend and can receive 1.2 CEUs.
