Dr. Catie Koss has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UW-Madison and is a multi- crafter, including quilting, crocheting, and knitting. Her professional focus is on preventative medicine where she combines her love of crafting with her love of physical therapy. We will learn about the specific ergonomic needs for safe crafting. The presentation will include what to consider when setting up your sewing area and which helpful tools aid in decreasing strain. She will teach us a simple exercise program to promote good posture and decrease the risk of overuse injuries. Time permitting, she will answer specific questions from some of our members and demonstrate techniques to correct their form and prevent future injuries, aches, and pains.APRIL theme and activity: SUSTAINABILITY
Activity: Take it – please – I insist!
Bring a wrapped item you’ve really wanted to “re-gift” and we will have fun swapping! You never know – somebody might really like that sweater your mother-in- law gave you that she knew was too small. Or the mismatched salt and pepper shakers. Or that really-not-my-taste knickknack. You don’t have to put your name on the package. At the end of the evening, we will donate any unclaimed usable items to the Salvation Army, and we’ll recycle the wrapping paper. (Shared stories will remain with our members – “What happens at Guild meetings, stays at Guild meetings”.

Themed Show and Tell: Quilts you’ve made from previously used quilts/fibers/orphan blocks. Show us why you just couldn’t let that stuff go to waste.
*** Reminder: If you bring an item for our theme – you can enter your name for a drawing.
We will of course have our wonderful monthly Show and Tell as well.
