Jonny Blade, winning the Breakthrough Artist Of The Year Award from Songs Behind The Music! Catch him and many other artists at Haslands April Indie Sessions.
A northern boy in every sense.
Born in Sunderland, 'made in Yorkshire' and living in Manchester, Jonny's foray into music started at school as with so many. He picked up a Ukulele, but instead of playing the 'standards', quickly started writing his own songs.
Raised on his parents eclectic musical tastes, he found a passion for modern indie music seeing bands such as The Lottery Winners, The Reytons & The K's at gigs and festivals (which often took the place of family holidays) A ukulele YouTube cover of 'Favourite Flavour' by The Lottery Winners, led to him being invited to perform the song with the band a sold out Gorilla Beer Hall in Mexborough.
A later LW gig in Wigan saw him watch a young support act Jamie Wooding with his guitar & looper pedal, which in turn inspired him to pick up a guitar & teach himself to play. During a Lottery Winners soundcheck in front of distinguished guests at Manchester O2 Apollo, Thom spotted Jonny in the crowd and asked Jonny to replace him in the band for a rendition of 'Favourite Flavour' this time with Thom's guitar, so that Thom could see what it was like from the floor.
Jonny was approached & invited to open Manchester's grassroots music After All Festival in April '24. This was his first gig & the beginning of his solo musical adventure. Jonny appeared again at After All Festival 2025, this time much further up the bill! Not one to forget those who have helped him on his journey, he will be there again this year .
A season ticket holder at Sheffield United F.C., Jonny felt impelled to rewrite the lyrics to David Bowie's 'Starman' in tribute to George Baldock after his tragic passing in October 2024. The song received an incredible reception on social media with over 100K views and he performed it in the SUFC fanzone on 3 occasions and in front of 28,000 fans at half-time. He now features regularly at the Fanzone on match days when he’s not gigging elsewhere.
After once again being invited onstage by The Lottery Winners at The Manchester O2 Academy in late December 2024, He performed ‘21’ and was gifted Thom’s guitar onstage. This lead to support slots with The Lottery Winners
and The Clause in 2025 amongst many others.
Jonny closed 2025 opening for Freddie Halkon at a sold out Octagon in Sheffield to a great reception and can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year.
If 2026 is anything like 2025 for Jonny, then we’re in for a treat!

Boasting powerhouse vocals, catchy hooks, and feel-good grooves, Leeds indie pop-rock outfitLONG ISLAND are making waves in the strong northern scene with their energetic live shows.
2025 saw the breakout year for LONG ISLAND with major festival stage slots perfect for their unrelenting live sets, including Truck, Kendal Calling, Isle of Wight, and a headline stage slot at Tramlines.
With a sold-out Leeds debut headline show following, alongside support slots with The Lilacs, Fickle Friends, and The Rosadocs, and their first international show at Viva Sounds in Sweden, LONG ISLAND are one to watch out for in 2026!

An indie rock band based in Bolsover, Derbyshire, taking Chesterfield by storm.
We love writing songs and making fresh music. Our inspiration for our songs come mainly from our own life experiences which we realise are going to grow as we continue our journey, so please jump onboard early so you can enjoy our journey with us 👌👌.
Pablo Carrizo
Soulful indie singer-songwriter that tugs at the heartstrings.
The young Hull-based musician has already amassed a large and loyal fan following. He has performed at festivals such as Tha Knows Festival, with The Lottery Winners, The Clause, The Lilacs, The Chase, The Skinner Brothers, and Skylights. He has also played the main stage (18k cap venue) at Humber Street Sesh, supported The Rosadocs four times in various cities across the UK, supported The Chase at Brid Spa, and Dirty Sterling at Scunthorpe Baths Hall. Furthermore, he sold out his own headline gig at the Adelphi Club in Hull in December 2024 and all before he even released a single!
Route 86
Sheffield based Indie band covering all aspects of the genre.
Our music stems from Sheffield themes such as Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, milburn and many others. We cover all aspects of the genre showing indie pop and rock themes with no two of our songs being the same.
Each one of us has our own inspiration for the way we play. You can see this in our music with the bounce of the tracks coming from 70s drums, the guitar playing coming from 2000s indie and the bass lines showing a mix of 90s and present day grooves.
You will always leave our show with at least one song in your head. We’ve headlined popular venues such as Sidney and Matilda, Network, Vault 27 but we’ve also played supports slots with emerging talents such as The Now and The Public Eye. As we try to refine our craft we are always looking for new opportunities to gain crowds and make our own fan base as ROUTE 86
