NeighborUp needs our help in stocking the food pantry shelves for the summer. Pantry demand increases because children who usually receive free or reduced lunches during the school year go without when school is out over the summer. To help NeighborUp, we will have a food drive from May 1 to June 14, the beginning of traditional school’s summer holiday. Our goal is to have at least 1000 pounds in donations by June 14. All non-perishable food donations are appreciated. Items most needed are pasta sauce (Hunts, Ragu, etc.), dried pasta, pancake mix, pancake syrup, oatmeal, canned meat (chicken, tuna, Spam, Vienna sausages etc.), canned fruit, canned tomatoes, packaged side items (rice, potato and pasta), ramen, granola bars, crackers, cookies, Pop-tarts, flour (2-5 lb bags), sugar and cooking oil. Dish detergent, laundry detergent and hygiene items (soap, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, women’s hygiene) are also needed.
Place your donations in the NeighborUp marked bins found outside in the traffic circle. Thank you for all your donations and your support of our neighbors who need a helping hand.
