About this Event
The Academy of Medical Educators is pleased to bring you our next AoME Insights webinar.
This online meeting will focus on:
• The background- the landscape of deprivation and health inequity across the United Kingdom in recent years
• The learning environment- supporting learners (undergraduate health professions students and health professionals in training) to learn in areas of deprivation
• The educational context- how healthcare professionals, educators, and professional organisations can collaborate to promote learning in areas of deprivation
• The workforce- what is the latest thinking on how to retain healthcare professionals to adapt to work, educate and inspire in areas of deprivation
• The patient perspective- how co-produced education in areas of deprivation can benefit both learners and patients
Chaired by Professor Jacky Hayden, CBE delegates will hear from speakers with lived, and professiional experiences of health inequalities. Dr Laura Neilson, CEO Shared Health Foundation and A&E doctor, Dr Austin O'Carroll, GP Dublin and Founder of Safetynet and NDCGP and Dr Cliona Ni Cheallaigh, Associate Professor Trinity College Dublin and Consultant Physiciab, Inclusion Health Services St James's Hospital.
