AoME Annual Academic Meeting 2026, 20-21 October 2026

The Academy of Medical Educators is delighted to invite you to our annual meeting Safeguarding Excellence in Health Professions Education, 20-21 October 2026, Conference Aston, Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Educators across all health professions, including academics, veterinary surgeons, medical practitioners, dentists, and other healthcare professionals are working in increasingly pressured environments. Within these service providers, workforce shortages and rising service demands continue to challenge the delivery of high-quality education. This year’s AoME Annual Conference will examine how we protect and sustain educational excellence in the face of these realities, and how we uphold the professional values and learner support that underpin safe, compassionate care.

The programme will explore practical strategies for maintaining educational quality when resources are stretched, and for enabling both learners and educators to thrive during periods of organisational strain. Alongside these system pressures, we will place emphasis on our collective responsibility to strengthen education in under-resourced settings, and to actively support education and training in areas of conflict.

This conference is one of the most valuable opportunities for educators across the health professions to come together to share good practice, the latest innovations in healthcare education, as well as for networking, academic collaboration, and professional development.

We are also pleased to announce the Academy's Annual Quiz and Buffet Social which will take place on the evening on Tuesday 20th October close to the conference venue. Do join us for a fun social networking event close to the conference venue. You'll need to select the quiz and buffet add-on to your registration.

All efforts will be made to present the programme as detailed. However, the organising committee reserves the right to make changes to the programme, exhibition or related social events, for any cause beyond its reasonable control.

The conference organisers are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of such alteration.

Cancellation policy for registration

Cancellation must be received in writing to [email protected] AoME will refund registration fees as follows:

- by 5pm 19 October 2026 - 25% administration fee

- after 5pm 19 October 2024 - No refund , however transfers will be allowed.
