Anuvab Pal returns on official business. Post-Brexit, the British government wants to sell the idea of Britishness to India. It has been done before, with dubious results. Now, they’ve set up a Department of Britishness and hired him. He will explain in detail why Indians should embrace Britishness, having done it himself. There is trouble ahead.
Anuvab’s stand-up comedy special The Nation Wants To Know, has played over 500 sold out shows from Mumbai to Sydney to San Francisco. His show, Empire, a comedy show based on the history of the British Empire in India, has played in 12 cities worldwide and can now be seen as a comedy special on Amazon Prime UK AS part of Soho Theatre Live. Anuvab is also a prolific writer. He was the screenwriter of multiple Bollywood films, his play Chaos Theory was a hit stage play in New York and Mumbai and later became a bestselling novel; he currently writes a monthly column for India’s Economic Times.
