We are honoured to invite you to the 7th edition of the "Antwerp Cup" kendo competition which will be hosted by the joint Antwerp kendo clubs: Enmei Ryu & Seishinkan, on Saturday, April 5th 2025. The Antwerp Cup applies a unique formula whereby all participants continue fighting throughout the day and take turns as shinpan & kakari-in (score & time keeping). Focus is on "learning by doing" and gaining experience regarding all aspects of shiai in a friendly atmosphere.
Please note, we must limit the number of participants to 90. Be on time with your registrations. We will close the registration March 23th or when we reach the maximum capacity.
Schedule:
8h45 doors open / registration
9h15 shinai check
9h30 warm-up
9h45 opening address & instructions
10h00 start competition – part 1
13h00 lunch break
14h00 start competition – part 2
17h00 final rounds
17h30 end competition, results & awards
18h30 sayonara diner (on location)
Catering:
For lunch, a bento box by Sasano-san, chef of Japanese restaurant IZUMI is available.
Everybody is also welcome to join the sayonara diner afterwards at the same location.
This will be in buffet style; offering soup, choice of main dish (including vegan option) and dessert. Drinks are available from the bar (at extra cost; payments on site by Payconiq or cash only !).
Registration;
Deadline for registration is Sunday, March 23th.
Please note, the number of participants is limited;
registrations are handled on a first come basis.
Costs:
> participation = 15€
> bento lunch = 15€ (option)
> sayonara diner = 25€ (option)
Official registration is only accepted after reception of the completed form & full payment (not by e-mail communication, direct message or Facebook event confirmation) !
