We lock the doors, turn the lights down, and everybody sits somewhere comfortable with whatever they're reading. No assigned book. No discussion questions. No going around the circle and saying your name.
If you want to chat before we start or after we finish, great. During, we're all pretending the others aren't here.
Bring a blanket if you're the kind of person who gets cold. Bring your own book, or grab one off the shelf when you get here. The cafe will be open before we start.
It is genuinely two hours where nobody can ask you for anything. We think about it all month.
