About this Event
The Institute for Sport and Social Justice, the 25th Annual Player Networking Event, and Athlife invite you to join us during the lead-up to the Super Bowl for a panel discussion on the challenges facing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the world of sports and beyond.
The past five years have seen significant progress in discussions and initiatives around DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) nationwide. In 2023, for example, the NFL experienced a historic increase in the hiring of Black coaches, alongside notable strides in leadership diversity reflecting the demographics of the players. However, recent changes in legislation and policy have led to widespread bans on DEI programs, threatening the progress made for many underrepresented groups.
Our panel of experts will dive into the current backlash against DEI initiatives, examining its impact on the NFL, sports at large, and society. Don’t miss this critical conversation on the future of DEI in sports and its broader societal implications.
