BODA x Waiting on a Friend For the past two years in New York, something lovely has been happening at BODA. Rooms full of strangers have turned into friendships, holidays have been booked, kisses have been shared on dance-floors, long term relationships formed, dates have been planned, and meet-cutes have unfolded right in front of us.
Whether it’s romance, a new bestie, or simply the joy of being in a room where everyone is in the same chapter of life, we love seeing what happens when single people gather offline.
Our socials have been described as wholesome, great for single people’s mental health, so if you love the idea of a meet-cute more than a swipe, come join us.
This April we’re taking over the beautiful Waiting on a Friend in the East Village for a BODA singles social.
The bar will be exclusively ours for 200 BODA guests from 6:30pm–10:30pm.
What to expect:
- Around 95% of our guests come alone, so if you’re the only single one in your friendship group, please don’t miss out just because you’re not bringing a friend. Come solo, you’ll be in good company.
- A room where everyone is single. One of the only rules we have: you must be single to enter. No couples, no plus-ones, no awkward third wheels, just a room full of people open to meeting someone new.
- A little Dutch Courage - but only to be redeemed with someone you don't know in the room
- No speed dating, no awkward icebreakers, just great music, conversation and the possibility of bumping into someone who might just change your plans for the evening
- Our community tends to attract brilliant, thoughtful people who prefer a slower, kinder and more human approach to dating, an antidote to the fast-swiping culture many singles are tired of.
Essential boring bits:
• Doors open 6:30pm – 10:30pm - The venue will be exclusively BODA until 10:30pm, before reopening to the public
- This particular social is for people in their 20s, 30s and 40s - as long as you’re 21+ everyone is welcome, whatever your sexuality or gender.
- We cannot control gender ratios on the night (men to women, women to women, men to men etc), but we always aim for a great mix of ages, personalities and energies so everyone has a brilliant evening.
- Due to the nature of the event tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Tickets may only be resold to someone of the same gender category listed on the ticket. By purchasing a ticket you also consent to BODA capturing photos and videos at the event for use across our social channels.
