On the evening of July 30th, we'll be gathering for community, food, meaningful discussion, and working toward a better world. Together.
This will be a soulful gathering.
And it will be fun.
With this event, we're kicking off a new experiment...
An event series that both examines problems we're currently experiencing, in our collective lives together... and that also leans into the magic and wisdom of community, to start talking about solutions for these problems.
"For the love!" is a phrase many of us shout when we're frustrated with something.
At the same time, "for the love" can be a phrase guiding us, as we live our lives — a value system that puts love at the center of everything we do.
We will use both meanings in these events.

The Focus of This Gathering
Did you know that anti-Blackness is widespread within philanthropy and nonprofits? How could this be, you may wonder? Aren't these fields all about helping people? Justice? A better world?
Yes they are.
And...
... they still exist in our world — a world that is rife with anti-Blackness — and they haven't yet dedicated themselves to truly healing from this insidious form of racism.
We're going to talk about this, in both personal and systemic ways.
And once we've got a good understanding of the problem...
... we're going to start talking solutions.
Join us for this experiment, and help us make it as magic as we know it can be!

A Bit re: the Economics of This Gathering
In addition to the value of the gathering itself, our other hope for this series is that it provides material, meaningful support for small businesses and community members who need it, especially given the difficult economy we've been living through lately.
Your fee will....
- Cover paying the speakers
- Help purchase food from a local Black-owned restaurant
- Pay the rental fee to this lovely Black-owned bookstore
- Support the small business organizing this
- Give you the gift of meaningful community on a regular Thursday night
Let's make this a win-win-win-win-win experience!
