Anthropology and Photography Workshop
About this Event
Photography is rarely a neutral or objective recorder of reality; instead, it is a 'world making' creative activity and always deeply embedded in social relationships, power dynamics, and cultural contexts. Through a balance of theoretical lectures, critical discussions, and hands-on fieldwork exercises, participants will learn how to use the camera as a tool for ethical cultural engagement, storytelling, and collaborative narrative-building.
Required Materials:
A camera (smartphone, DSLR, or mirrorless), a laptop or tablet for basic image sorting, and a notebook for ethnographic field notes.
