Welcome to the 2026 Anteater Collegiate Championships hosted by the Badminton Club at UCI! Open to any collegiate badminton players!

$45 for the first event, $40 for the second

Entry fees must be paid by January 8th, 11:59pm PST
ENTRIES DUE BY JANUARY 3RD AT 11:59 PM. There will be an additional $10 late fee per athlete for any entry submitted after, until January 8th at 11:59 PM.
NO REFUNDS unless you withdraw before January 8th at 11:59 PM.

In efforts to make sure check-in runs as smoothly as possible, a max of 20 people may pay cash on the day of the tournament. If you want to pay cash, please contact the Tournament Committee at [email protected] or on Facebook immediately. We will post when the max of 20 people is reached. All others, please pay before December 26th.
ENTRIES ARE BINDING, you have to agree to show up to play and pay entry fees. If you would like to withdraw, please contact the Tournament Directors BY 01/08/26 at [email protected]. If tournament day comes and you have not withdrawn and don't show up, we will still require you to pay the entry fee and late fee.

Schedule of Play (tentative):
- All XD, MS, and WS on Saturday, 1/17/26
- MD, WD on Sunday, 1/18/26
Events:
1. There will be a total of 3 flights: A/B, C, D MS, MD, WS, WD, XD (A/B being the highest level, and D being the lowest level). In the interest of time, we will be combining A and B flights. If you are an A or B level player, please sign up for the A/B flight
2. An athlete may only sign up for a MAXIMUM OF 2 EVENTS. Jumping flights will NOT be allowed. (A/B and D will not be allowed.)
3. An athlete may not play in different flights for the same event despite having different partners.
4. There will be a 32 entry cap for C and D draws due to time constraints. A/B draws will be capped at 16 entries. First-come first serve.
5. Athletes can play with anyone from another university or college. Please be sure that both you and your partner register.
6. We reserve the right to adjust players’ flights should we feel that they are playing at a flight below their skill level. NO SANDBAGGING.
7. If there aren’t enough entries for an event, flights may be combined.
Eligibility:
**All athletes MUST be enrolled in a community college or university.**
ALL participants must sign a liability waiver on the day of the tournament.
If you are under 18 years old by the tournament date, please make sure your parents come with you to sign the waiver. If this is not possible, please let us know so we can forward you the liability form so a parent can sign ahead of time.
Shuttlecocks:
2 tournament grade shuttlecocks (Yonex Aeroclear 30) will be provided for each match. Semi-finals and finals in the main draw will be given up to 3 shuttles. Please bring your own additional shuttlecocks.
Entry Deadline:
1. Friday, January 3rd at 11:59pm on Tournament Software (https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/tournament/9870FBFF-0BF4-4E6B-AA1D-CDD1CD0025B9). There will be a $10 late fee for any entries entered after January 3rd. We will NOT be accepting new entries after January 8th, 2026, at 11:59 pm.
2. Withdrawals are due January 8th, with exceptions at the Tournament Committee’s discretion. If tournament day comes and you have not withdrawn and don't show up, we will require you to still pay your tournament fee.
*Please note that events are capped and entries submitted prior to the deadline are not guaranteed a spot so we recommend submitting your entries early!

Tournament T-Shirts and Raffle:
Tournament dri-fit shirts will be given to athletes who play 2 events. Please ensure that you provide the correct size.
Extra t-shirts will be sold for $22 each through the preorder form. Left over shirts will be sold on-site for $25. There will be raffles for rackets, bags, strings and grips. Raffle tickets will be given to everyone who participates. Extra raffle tickets can be purchased for $1.

Awards/Prizes:
Medals will be awarded to 1st place and 2nd place. Cash prizes will also be given to Quarterfinalists*, Semifinalists, runner-up, and winners playing A/B flights. Quarterfinalist prize money will be tentative and based on the number of entries. Prizes will be given to the winners of all flights.
Parking:
Parking passes may be purchased at the Anteater Recreation parking lot via machine. Prices are $2 per hour or $16 per day. Cars may be parked in the outside lot or inside the parking structure in designated spots with white lines.
Regulations:
1. No food is allowed inside the main gym. Food may be consumed in designated areas outside the main gym.
2. The tournament will be played using a 3 x 21 rally scoring system.
3. Events may be played in a round robin format depending on the number of entries.
4. If a player(s) is not ready to play within 10 minutes when their match is called, they will be defaulted.
5. On court warm-ups will be strictly enforced to 2 minutes.
6. There will be 9 courts available for the tournament in the main gym.
7. Prize money depends on the number of draws.
8. The tournament organizers reserve the right to make any necessary changes to the draw or the above stated conditions.
9. Due to time constraints, there will be NO CONS
Spectators:
Please do not bring your own chairs as there will be bleacher seats around the border of the main gym. Additional seats will be provided if necessary.
