Saturday, March 7 at 7:00 PM marks the return of our annual “String Day” Concert. Pre-college students from across the state will join the UL Lafayette Symphony Orchestra to perform Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal featuring cellist Dragos Filip, Night Beat by M. L. Daniels, and Ode to a Joyride by Brian Balmages.Winners of the UL Symphony Solo Competition will also be featured with the orchestra:
• Yuxi Zhang (piano), performing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue
• William (Blaise) Cormier (trombone), performing the Rota Trombone Concerto
• Khai Huynh and Layla Brasseaux, performing the Krommer Concerto for Two Clarinets
Angelle Hall Auditorium. Free Admission.
