Join us for the Capital Striders Annual Social, an evening of community, connection, and inspiration with runners and walkers of all abilities.We’re excited to welcome Blake Boldon as our guest speaker. Blake is a nationally recognized runner, coach, and storyteller known for his engaging, motivational approach and passion for helping runners find joy, longevity, and purpose in the sport.
Your registration includes a small selection of beverages and pizza from the Tavern.
Registration Rates
Capital Striders Members: $10 per person (should have received a discount code via email)
Non-Members: $20 per person
Event Timeline
6:30 PM – Doors open
7:00 PM – Brief review of the 2025 Capital Striders season
7:30 PM – Short break to refill food and drinks
~7:45-8:00 PM – Guest speaker Blake Boldon begins
Guest Speaker: Blake Boldon
Blake Boldon is a nationally recognized runner, coach, and speaker with decades of experience in the running industry. Known for his engaging style, humor, and heartfelt message, Blake inspires runners of all levels to pursue joy, longevity, and purpose in the sport. His talks blend motivation, real-life experience, and a deep love for the running community. Blake returned to his roots in Iowa as the Director of XCTF at Drake University and the Senior Associate Athletics Director/Franklin P. Johnson Director of the Drake Relays. He's ties his midwestern charm to his vast array of experience to deliver something that is sure to inspire you while also reminding you of why you love running in central Iowa, no matter where your miles may take you this year!
Capital Striders is a non-profit organization built on the belief that running is better together, serving the central Iowa community for over 40 years. From weekly group runs to training programs, races, and social events, our club brings people together through movement and community—and this event is a perfect way to experience that spirit. Members receive discounts to all of our races and social events, plus discounts to other local races too!
