Join us at Shafor Park for Oakwood’s annual Ice Cream Social — a family tradition to celebrate the end of summer. Enjoy music from a DJ and the Oakwood High School Marching Band, games and prizes for all ages, the Avenue of Organizations, Food Trucks, and of course... ice cream! Rain or shine
This year’s event is a low-waste event, thanks to our partnership with Green Oakwood, Waste-Free Dayton, and City of Dayton’s “Take Back the Tap” water trailer. Bring your own water bottles to fill!

Date: Sunday, August 9, 2026
Location: Shafor Park
Rain Location: Oakwood Community Center – Great Room
• Games Open: 3:30 P.M.
• Food Trucks: 3:30 PM-7:00 P.M.
• OHS Band Performance: 4:00 P.M.
• Ice Cream: 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M.
• Bubble Party: 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M.
• Event Ends: 7:00 P.M.
Tickets
• Pre-Sale and Day of Event:
o Ice Cream: $2.00 each
o Games: $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00
No online sales. Tickets must be purchased in person at the Oakwood Community Center or day of event.
Avenue of Organizations
Oakwood clubs and non-profit organizations can participate in the “Avenue of Organizations” to share information, recruit members, or promote fundraisers.
Applications are available at www.oakwoodparksandrec.com or at the OCC. Return completed forms via
email to [email protected] or drop them off at the OCC.
