After a brief business meeting, Rebecca Fullerton will present a talk entitled “Artist Marketing in the Middle of Nowhere”.
How do you make your art more visible and saleable in rural New England? Landscape painter Rebecca M. Fullerton will share how she has built an audience in her tiny town without a huge social media following, just two small galleries, a simple website and one miniscule mailing list. She will share simple ways to market your art “in real life” and online, participate in fairs and other live events, and find the opportunities that are right for your art practice. Plus, she’ll show you how she prepares for the holiday season, the busiest art marketing time of the year.
Rebecca M. Fullerton lives in Bethlehem, NH, where she paints and serves as the Archivist for the Appalachian Mountain Club. She has been making art from a very young age and sold her first painting in junior high school. Within her practice, Fullerton specializes in landscape painting in the realist and impressionist traditions. Her focus is the mountains of New England, particularly in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Maine. Each year she hikes in the back-country, taking in the dramatic scenery of the wilderness, sketching, painting, and taking photographs for later use. She is always trying to capture the special atmosphere unique to this area with its changeable weather, steep trails, and limitless views as a way to promote the unique and fragile beauty of places that deserve conservation. Fullerton holds a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and Art History from Hartwick College, as well as a Master’s degree in Museum Studies from the Harvard Extension School.
All interested people are welcome to attend. You don’t have to be a MWVAA member. Please access the Gibson Senior Center function room from the back parking lot and the door at the end of the handicap ramp.
