Every year, the City of Lafayette honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a march and an event organized by the Lafayette Youth Advisory Board (LYAB). The pre-march gathering will take place at the north end patio and lawn of the Lafayette Public Library at 10am, and the march will begin at 10:30am at the north end of the building.
This fully accessible, one-mile march will begin at the Library (775 W Baseline Rd) and end at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center (111 W Baseline Rd). Visit the ticket link of this event to see the map route.
After the march, join the City of Lafayette Youth Advisory Board at the recreation center for breakfast burritos and hot chocolate, speeches and performances from local youth, and a performance by Moses Graytower and the American Spirit. Shuttles will be provided from the Recreation Center back to the Library.
