The real-life couple play a pair of mismatched lovers who drift in and out of each other’s lives over the course of a few years. Alvy (Allen) is the neurotic comedian whose idea of a good night is taking in a screening of The Sorrow and the Pity. Annie (Keaton) is an awkward, self-deprecating Midwestern girl who charms Alvy with her affable quirkiness. One of the greatest movie romances, Annie Hall stunned everyone on Oscar night when it beat Star Wars for Best Picture. Keaton also won Best Actress for her iconic role.
