Colorado based multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Anneke Dean began as a classically trained violinist, studying through college and receiving her bachelor's degree in violin performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts under the tutelage of Almita Vamos and MingHuan Xu. After graduation, she moved to Telluride, where she began to explore new genres and become a part time ski bum. She met her bandmates Birds of Play the summer of 2020 and soon after, began to find her own voice as a singer-songwriter, and has since performed as a solo artist across Colorado, often highlighting her shows with a loop pedal.
In the spring of 2025, Anneke released her debut album, Unfamiliar Skies, and returned to the Denver area to pursue more classical music opportunities and continue growing her songwriting career.
