Anne of Green Gables Auditions at CTH

Community Theatre of Howell invites performers ages 7 and up to audition for Anne of Green Gables – The Musical. Based on L.M. Montgomery's beloved novel, this heartwarming musical follows the imaginative and spirited orphan Anne Shirley as she finds her place in the world after being mistakenly sent to live with Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert on Prince Edward Island. Through her boundless imagination, determination, and charm, Anne transforms the lives of everyone around her while discovering what it means to belong.

Audition Workshop (Optional but Strongly Recommended)

The workshop will include:
Audition dance instruction: 3:00–3:30 p.m.
Audition song instruction: 3:30–5:00 p.m.
Additional dance practice: 3:30–5:00 p.m.
Please bring dance shoes or socks. Dancing barefoot is also permitted.

Callbacks will be held by invitation only, if needed. Receiving or not receiving a callback does not indicate casting status.
Who Can Audition?
Anyone ages 7 and above is encouraged to audition.
No previous theatre experience is required. Community Theatre of Howell membership is not required to audition but will be required for those who are cast.
We welcome performers of all backgrounds and experience levels.
Audition Requirements
Auditions will consist of:
- A character reading
- A song excerpt
- The audition dance
Audition readings and music are available in the Audition Materials folder. Performers should:
Prepare the reading for the role they are most interested in (memorization is not required).
Prepare the provided song excerpt. Full versions of the songs can be found on YouTube and Spotify.
Learn the audition dance taught during the workshop or from the posted video.
Complete the audition form and attach a small photo.
Please bring dance shoes or socks. No street shoes are permitted on the dance studio floors.
