Anna Keeling: A 7 day epic along the Hooker range
Come along to a talk by Anna Keeling about a truly out-there unique ski-mountaineering trip from Mt. Cook to the Paringa River on the West Coast. The team (Anna was accompanied by slightly younger legends Ruari Macfarlane and Troy Forsyth) skied, skinned, cramponed and battled some of the remotest high terrain in NZ.
If you’ve got any interest in ski-touring, mountaineering, remote NZ glaciers and peaks, you won’t want to miss this talk, as it’s a true full-on adventure carried out by some very talented alpinists.
About the speaker:
Anna Keeling is a renowned IFMGA mountain ski-guide, who also trains and examines future guides in both NZ and US. She divides her time between Castle Hill and Utah, so has stacked up a frightening number of consecutive winters. In the NZ winter she guides and runs avalanche courses, and no-one knows the back bowls skiing in the Craigieburns like Anna. She owns her own guiding company (Anna Keeling Guiding) and is currently president of the NZ Mountain Guides Association.
Anna has written for many publications and is an entertaining speaker whom we’re really excited (and lucky) to host at the Cashmere Club, at 7:30pm on Thursday July 2nd.
See you there!
