Celebrating Brookgreen’s Connection to Women in the ArtsJoin us at Brookgreen Gardens for an inspiring celebration of women in the arts. This special gathering brings together art enthusiasts, community leaders, and Brookgreen supporters to honor Anna Hyatt Huntington’s enduring legacy and to recognize those who are shaping the future.
Enjoy a curated experience
We are opening the doors to the Purdy Welcome Center and Conservatory Gardens for this annual event. This will be the first event of this type in the new center and guests will enjoy an intimate opportunity to experience the remarkable horticultural displays, the Paul Manship bird sculptures, and Brookgreen in Miniature.
The program will feature an engaging discussion centered on prominent sculptor, Glenna Goodacre, whose works are well represented in Brookgreen’s collection. We’ll explore her life and legacy, her influence on American sculpture through works such as the Vietnam Women’s Memorial and the Sacagawea coin, and a collector’s approach to exhibiting her art.
