We’re excited to be part of Everywhere At Once, powered by The National Lottery, this June. Taking place from 26-28 June, it’s the UK’s biggest music festival on your doorstep with 1000+ gigs, 400+ venues, 1 weekend.
After a great start for episode 1 of Animal Tracks, it's time for the amazing Bird House Songs, who I first saw play supporting Seamus Fogerty in Sheffield, a great inventive songwriter who I am sure you're going to love! Full bio below!
It is doors at 4 with a few floor spots for local songwriters to come and try out new material on our lovely listening audience between 430 and 5, a support slot from myself and then our main act for the evening before wrapping up around 7 for a nice early Sunday finish. Expect chilled out vibes, a seated immersive listening experience, and to hear artists talk about their craft, inspirations and share how their songs came to be.
Support original live music in Huddersfield and help us out by sharing the event and inviting your friends so we can make this a regular fixture in the Huddersfield musical calendar!
Email [email protected] to book a floor spot.
Leo Brazil
Seeing as I am doing support slots for the first few shows I am making each one different. This one will showcase some of the more spacey chilled out songs from Alone with ambient delays and lo-fi folky influences.
Bird House Songs
The music of singer/songwriter bird house fuses traditional song writing with bittersweet humour and atmospheric touches. He carries the listener effortlessly from lilting folk tunes to poetry and “laconic slice of life storytelling” (Tom Robinson).
Released in 2024, his debut album ‘Sleep House’ was well received, garnering widespread praise and radio play on BBC6 music’s Fresh on the net show, Christian Carlisle’s BBC Introducing Sheffield, and playlisted by Amazing Radio’s Charlie Ashcroft and Folk Radio (now KLOF).
A second album, conceived largely in a sparse home studio set-up, comprised of two microphones, a mobile phone, and a broken laptop prone to switching itself off in sulking fits of protest, is set to be released this year. Keep your ears peeled for another collection of stories and dreams from the there and then and the here and now.
“Nick Drake in Space” – someone at gig
“Emo Paul McCartney” – someone else at a gig
