In addition to wildlife tracking, Shirley is an expert on the Old Leather Man. She also tells tales of pirates “Black” Sam Bellamy and the Whydah Galley (Cape Cod, Massachusetts), and Captain William Kidd and the Charles Island Treasure (Milford, Connecticut); plus “Things That Go Bump in the Night” – ghosts stories in local history; “New England Trails and Tales”; and the history of charcoal in the northeast “Charcoal Before the Briquette”.
