We’re pleased to host the Anglicare Community Food Pantry here at Gymea Anglican Church every second Thursday.
The pantry is a simple and practical way to help stretch the household budget. For $15, you can fill a bag with a range of pantry staples and household essentials, with friendly helpers on hand to assist. Through Anglicare, this initiative is designed to provide affordable groceries in a welcoming community setting, helping people save on everyday essentials.
At Gymea, we also supplement the pantry with extra donated items from church members, so there are often some bonus goodies available as well.
The pantry is set up outside in the church car park, with easy parking and easy access, making it a relaxed alternative to busy shopping centres - especially for older members of our community or anyone who would appreciate a slower pace.
And it’s more than just groceries - there’s also tea, coffee, and a chance to stop for a chat in the sun. Whether you’re looking to save on groceries, meet some friendly locals, or simply find a more convenient place to shop, everyone is welcome.
