Please join us for the Angela Meade Vocal Competition on Sunday, November 2nd at 3 p.m. in Lagerquist Concert Hall of the Mary Baker Russell Music Center. Finalists will perform in front of a panel of judges from the professional opera world. There will be a reception for all attendees while judges deliberate.
American soprano Angela Meade '01 is the winner of both the Metropolitan Opera's 2012 Beverly Sills Artist Award and the 2011 Richard Tucker Award. She has become recognized as one of today's outstanding vocalists, excelling in the most demanding heroines of the 19th-century bel canto repertoire as well as in the operas of Verdi and Mozart, and triumphing in 57 vocal compeititons around the world.
This competition is possible thanks to an endowment at PLU in Ms. Meade’s name and, with the support of generous donors, is free and open to the public.
