The Colorado-based songwriter's personal and succinct writing style takes the listeners through contemplative vignettes that navigate a range of topics from the politics, to love and self healing. All presented through his sardonic humor & hot blooded performances.
Angel channels his fighting spirit in each performance. Always willing tto break himself wide open for listening rooms, intimate theatres, and house concerts across the U.S, Canada, UK and anywhere there is an attentive audience.
Angel's authenticity is immediately felt through tales of a varied past and a cultural clash of life experiences with complex people in complex and sometimes systemic situations. His empathy and intenstiy is in full force whether he is screaming and wailing with an electric guitar, that earned him the moniker of a "Chicano Bruce Springsteen" or bringing the emotional depth and closeness of a weathered but determined troubadour or romantic crooner in the likes of Amos Lee & David Ramirez.
Angel's straightforward musicality in combination with a direct, no frills lyric approach proudly carries the torch of traditional folk through a different culutral perspective.
Disguising empathy behind "activism" and gratitude behind "resilience & sorrow".
Angel reminds audiences across the country that you cannot love the beauty of the moon without the darkness surrounding her.
ABOUT KYLE HARVEY — Kyle Harvey is a singer-songwriter living in western Colorado. Having spent some time in the backseat of a van traveling town to town, his timeless lyrics and the heartfelt vulnerability of their delivery have earned him a reputation as a “songwriter's songwriter.”
Harvey recently released the album, Anywhere But Here, which Americana Highways called, "The most poignant bittersweet songs you can imagine."
During his tenure as a mainstay of the 2000’s Omaha music scene, Harvey was nominated for Best Songwriter by the Omaha Entertainment Awards and called “one of the city’s best troubadours” by Spin Magazine. He played in many bands, most notably the indie-rock band It’s True, which National Public Radio called one of the top unsigned bands to see at SXSW. More recently, Harvey was recognized by the Nashville Songwriter Association International as “One to Watch.” In 2024, Harvey co-wrote a song with Evan Westerlund titled, “I Hope You Find Your Gold,” which was selected by NSAI to appear in the Bob Kingsley Top 40 Playlist.
Harvey has been fortunate to share the stage with Gregory Alan Isakov, Bright Eyes, Frank Black (of The Pixies), Steve Poltz, Daniel Johnston, David Rawlings, The Mountain Goats, and many more.
