Andy White's last show before saying goodbye to Melbourne and heading to Europe for the first half of next year. Andy is looking forward to playing spoke word tracks from his latest album 'Good Luck I Hope You Make It' and whatever else you want to hear!The Merri Creek Tavern is beautiful but tiny and Andy's last appearance there sold out, so get in quick.
Doors are 7.30 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Andy will play two sets.
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Andy's first EP 'Religious Persuasion' blew the doors off the indie charts in post-punk Ireland and a series of literary acoustic/electric albums starting with 'Rave on Andy White' took off around the world, bringing this Irishman with them.
Arriving in Australia with Tim Finn and Liam O Maonlai as the A of ALT, Andy has been based here on and off ever since. Recording and releasing albums, writing with the likes of Peter Gabriel, Kev Carmody and Christine Anu. In 2023 he followed solo career highlight 'This garden is only temporary' with 'AT', a duo album with Tim.
Released early 2024, 'Good Luck I Hope You Make It' finds Andy going back to the elements of his first EP. It's all about the bass, the beats, and the spoken word. He will play much of the album at this show for the very first time, plus whatever tracks you want to hear from his his back catalogue.
